Violet lives with her mom Julie and dad Matt in California. In her two short years of life, Violet has experienced thousands of seizures because of a life threatening form of epilepsy that often results in trips to the pediatric intensive care unit. These trips can cost upwards of $250,000; which Julie’s insurance pays, for the most part. Passing the Affordable Care Act guaranteed that Violet will continue to receive care because it eliminated life time limits. Violet would have hit her limit at the young age of four.
