Statement by Protect Your Care Communications Director Eddie Vale on the Blunt Amendment:

It is good news that common sense prevailed and the Blunt Amendment was voted down, preserving the rights of women to have access to contraception provided under the Affordable Care Act.  However, it is unconscionable that in the year 2012, so many Republican Senators, and their presidential nominees, have gone on the record voting to take away women’s contraception.  These members need to stop attempting to cozy up to the extreme Tea Party agenda by trying to take away health care benefits that tens of millions of Americans are getting from the Affordable Care Act while simultaneously trying to end Medicare for seniors.
